Dear Prime Minister

Papua New Guinea (PNG) is one of the world's most important biodiversity hotspots and part of the third largest tropical rainforest on the planet.

This forest is currently is under threat, mainly by Malaysian-owned companies that clearcut PNG forests through the misuse of Forest Clearing Authority licences (FCAs). Despite a 2023 moratorium on new FCA licences, widespread deforestation persist, with FCAs now as the single largest driver of forest loss in PNG.

Please save Papua New Guinea's forests and stop deforestation by Malaysian companies in Papua New Guinea by

1. Respecting the rights of the local landowners
2. Cancelling all FCA licences
3. Improving transparency and establishing a public register of all timber harvesting operations
